PTFE Belting
FIBERFLON® manufactures a wide range of long-lasting, high-performance process belts that perform exceptionally well over a wide range of operating temperatures. We offer a broad range of fabrication and belting material options to meet the specific demands of different industrial applications. Our process belts are specifically designed to provide superior release properties, durability, and dimensional and thermal stability. FIBERFLON® process belts are engineered to enhance the mechanical properties of woven fiberglass and Kevlar fabrics with the exceptional chemical and heat resistance of the PTFE coating. We also offer belts with multi-layer cast PTFE-film lamination for outstanding results in the most rigorous operating conditions and multi-ply PTFE belts for double belt press laminators. These belts can be used in textile, automotive, packaging, electronics, food, and many other industries.
KEY ADVANTAGES OF USING FIBERFLON BELTING MATERIALS
- LOW THERMAL MASS AND ENERGY USAGE
- LIGHTER WEIGHT FOR THE MACHINERY
- LOWER MAINTENANCE TIME AND COSTS
- RESISTANT TO CORROSIVE AGENTS
- RESISTANT TO CORROSIVE CAUSTIC CLEANING AGENTS
CLOSED-WOVEN PTFE BELTING SERIES are manufactured with various fiberglass styles and different amounts of PTFE coating. Compared with the Heavy Belting series, these belting materials are lightweight. Thicknesses of the belts range from 0.23 mm to 0.36 mm (8 mil to 14 mil).
CLOSED-WOVEN ANTI-STATIC PTFE BELTING SERIES are lightweight and coated with special formulation to reduce static buildup. All anti-static belts are black in color. Thicknesses of the belts range from 0.23 mm to 0.36 mm (8 mil to 14 mil).
HEAVY BELTING SERIES consists of our thickest and heaviest one-ply PTFE belting products. Different structural weaving types of glass fabrics present varied impressions on the final product with a few smooth surface options also available. These are widely used in flooring, automotive, plastics industries among others. Anti-static options available.
FIBERLAM PTFE CAST FILM LAMINATES are non-porous PTFE composites that combine the features of multi-layer fluoropolymer cast films with the mechanical properties of woven fiberglass fabric. We laminate multi-layer cast films on each side of the PTFE coated fabric to achieve a non-porous and microcrack free surface. Compared to traditional PTFE coated fabrics, these products provide superior performance by offering better release and longer life. PTFE cast film laminates have excellent barrier properties and are used in the most demanding applications such as food and chemical processing.
FIBERLAM MULTI-PLY PTFE BELTS consist of two or more layers of PTFE coated woven fiberglass fabrics to further strengthen the mechanical properties of the woven-fiberglass. Multi-ply belts replaced traditional one ply PTFE coated belts in double belt press laminators (flatbed laminators) because they prevent the creasing problem and the seams have almost no thickness difference, leaving no mark-off on the end product. These belting materials can also be laminated with fluoropolymer films to have superior release and longer life. Depending on the customer’s needs, we can laminate various PTFE coated fabrics to produce belting materials with specific surface structures, thicknesses, and heat transfer. PTFE COATED OPEN MESH FIBERGLASS BELTS are engineered to allow airflow through the belt and enhance drying. Applications include drying, curing and bonding.
PTFE COATED OPEN MESH FIBERGLASS BELTS are engineered to allow airflow through the belt and enhance drying. Applications include drying, curing and bonding.
PTFE COATED OPEN MESH KEVLAR BELTS are ideal for applications that require exceptional strength, long wear life, and airflow. These are preferred where the process includes steam and moisture. ARAMID/FIBERGLASS OPEN MESH BELTING 2000N is a NOMEX dryer belt with special impregnation coating. 9005 fabric is constructed with both Kevlar and Glass yarns and then coated with PTFE.
